Dr. Kozar has previously been in private practice at Valley Sports Physicians in Avon, CT, since August 2002 upon completing his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Sports Care/The Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. He is a graduate of the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Athens, Ohio, where he also completed an undergraduate fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. He did his family practice residency at Doctors Hospital, in Massillon, Ohio. He is board certified in three specialties: Family Practice and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment, Sports Medicine, and Neuro-musculoskeletal Medicine. In 2009 Dr. Kozar was awarded the honor of becoming a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine.
Currently, he serves as a team physician for the University of Hartford and Bloomfield High School, while caring for many of the professional and recreational athletes in the local and surrounding NE USA. His medical interests are further study into anatomy, functional movement, neuromuscular firing patterns as they relate to dysfunction and rehabilitation, and the use of diagnostic and therapeutic musculoskeletal ultrasound.
